It was an early Saturday morning, me and my colleagues took the first trip bound to Tagbilaran, Bohol via Ocean Jet from Cebu. (You can also try SuperCat for other option) You can book tickets directly at their sites and check for updated rates. It’s a 2-hour sea-travel, so don’t forget to secure your gadgets in a water-proof containers.

We were fetched by a van when we arrived. So our Bohol Tour began. And this is how it went!

Top Bohol Tourist Spots That You Must Not Miss

1st Stop: Blood Compact Shrine (The First International Treaty of Friendship) in Tagbilaran, Bohol

Of course, we should not miss historical sites (at least for me). Wikipedia says,

The Sandugo was a blood compact, performed in the island of Bohol in the Philippines, between the Spanish explorer Miguel López de Legazpi and Datu Sikatuna the chieftain of Bohol on March 16, 1565, to seal their friendship as part of the tribal tradition. This is considered as the first treaty of friendship between the Spaniards and Filipinos. “Sandugo” is a Visayan word which means “one blood”.

I’m pretty sure this was discussed back in school, but you know it was decade ago.

I’m really thankful, like big time that I have visited this church before the 2013 massive earthquake  ruined it.

3rd Stop: PRONY (Largest/Longest? Python Snake in Bohol)

Well, actually this place is sort of a mini zoo. Housing regular animals like birds, turtles and of course the main actor, PRONY. May I just emphasize that this beast is literally huge and (I think) could swallow any human any time. When we arrive, “he” was full already so (they said) it’s safe to go inside the cage with “him” and take a picture. I think I touched him for a second then back off. But I manage to have a picture. 🙂
