Ever since I came to know the existence of Banaue Rice Terraces from the textbooks back in school, I really promised myself that one day I will go there and witness its priceless beauty with my own naked eye.

There’s a common belief among anthropologists that you must immerse yourself in an unfamiliar world in order to truly understand your own.

The Tour Package

We availed a tour package for this trip (Manila > Banaue > Sagada > Baguio > Manila) and the travel agency that accommodated us was 8Wonders Travel and Tours.Β We are 10 in our group so I think the price per person was Php 3100 for 3days/2nights. Cheap right? If you’re interested, you may reach them through their official website: http://8wonderstravel.com/

It was an evening flight bound for Manila. As soon as we got out of the airport, we had dinner at the nearest Mcdonalds. I think it was around 9PM when our official transportation for the trip arrived. The journey from Manila to Banaue, Ifugao was 12 hours. Yes I didn’t sleep. I can’t sleep in a moving vehicle. Please teach me how :'( We arrived early in the morning at the famous BANAUE RICE TERRACES!!!! I was so happy and so amazed to see the actual rice terraces straight from my naked eye! It was surreal.

Brown rice of course! But it’s SEVERELY OVERPRICED. Please be aware. I suggest that you bring some food with you when you go here. This meal costs P100+.
After we finished our breakfast, we headed to Sagada, Mt. Province

So that was my experience with Banaue Rice Terraces. I was sincerely happy and I truly consider this as an achievement. Perhaps because I survived the 12-hour road trip going here? XD And staring a magnificent creation like the Banaue Rice Terraces is something that doesn’t happen everyday especially if you’re living in the city. It was an opportunity, a chance that I truly value. It’s just amazing. You should see it for yourself. The 12-hour journey to the Banaue Rice Terraces was so damn worth it.
